In partnership with Church World Service and local city and county schools, we provide support for refugee families and low-income households in the Harrisonburg area—helping them feel welcomed, supported, and equipped to thrive.

Meeting Immediate Needs

When families arrive in Harrisonburg or are struggling to make ends meet, we step in to provide essentials such as:

• Home furnishings and household items

• Clothing for all ages

The Welcome Home Project

Starting over in a new country can feel overwhelming—especially for refugee families who have left everything behind. Our Welcome Home Project ensures they have more than just a roof over their heads; they have a place that feels like home.

Our team fully sets up houses for newly arrived families, supplying furniture, bedding, kitchenware, and other essentials so they can begin their new life in comfort and security.

Seasonal & Community Events

We host several events throughout the year that bring hope and joy to families in our community:

• December Coat & Toy Drive
  Every child deserves warmth and wonder during the holidays. Each December, we make sure families in need receive winter coats, a toy, and a book for every child.

• Summer Camp for Refugee Children
  Once a year, we host a week-long summer camp specifically for refugee children. This provides a safe and fun environment for them to build friendships, gain confidence, and experience the joy of childhood.
